WHAT IS THE CAA A2 C OF C CERTIFICATION

The A2 C of C (A2 Certificate of Competency) is a new drone qualification which was introduced on the 31st December 2020 to allow you to fly small drones 'close to people' and under the new regulations, you can operate a drone commercially for the first time without needing to spend ££££'s on training and CAA Permissions!

The new A2 subcategory will allow you to ‘fly closer to people’ if you hold an A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) and are flying either a C2 class aircraft or if your drone weighs less than 2Kg; so it's the perfect qualification if you're flying drones like those in the DJI Mavic/Mavic 2 series and the Parrot Anafi.

You'll need to do an A2 C of C Training Course and Theory Examination with a CAA Approved Drone Training school like UAVHub delivery with Flightgate to be able to get your A2 Certificate and take advantage of the amazing opportunities this new system offers for Drone Pilots who fly small drones!

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH 'C2 CLASS' DRONES ONCE YOU'VE COMPLETED YOUR A2 C of C?

If you purchase a 'C2 Class Drone', when they come onto the market, you’ll be able to fly down to just 30m of uninvolved people, or down to 5m if the aircraft has been switched to a low-speed mode!

This is set to open up a whole new world of opportunities for drone pilots who have their A2 C of C and a C2 class drone. Imagine; you'll be able to inspect roofs, take photos of houses and potentially film with your drone in town centres! Something we could only have dreamed of being allowed to do with the BEST, SPECIAL permissions available from the CAA!
